What's New For 2022?

The Sonata largely stays the same for 2022 with a few additions to trim levels and optional packages. The sporty N Line version now comes available with the Night Edition appearance package, offering blacked-out exterior elements for a nice pop of styling. The SEL Plus trim gets several upgrades, including a panoramic sunroof, a premium audio system and in-car navigation.

Performance and Technology

Beyond the separate hybrid version of this midsized sedan, the new Hyundai Sonata offers three distinct engine options. You'll start off with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, rated at 191 horsepower, with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four offering 180 horsepower with 195 pound-feet of torque. For the top levels of performance, choose the Sonata N Line, which uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter four, producing 290 horsepower with 311 pound-feet of torque.

Like with other new Hyundai models found here in Manassas, the 2022 Sonata is loaded with smart technology. An 8-inch touchscreen with smartphone integration gets you going, with plenty of infotainment upgrades found in higher trims. You'll also have a standard suite of driver aids in the Sonata, which includes forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and a driver attention warning system, with other safety features found in higher trims.
