2022 Hyundai Accent Overview

What's New?

The latest Accent carries over unchanged, when the last edition saw some upgrades to improve fuel efficiency and upgrade the transmission. Though the four-cylinder was previously tweaked and saw less power, the Accent's boost in fuel economy marks what this compact sedan is all about. Furthermore, the last time there were upgrades, the traditional automatic transmission was swapped out for a continuously variable transmission (CVT) for smoother "shifting" and a slight bump in efficiency.

Performance and Technology

The new Hyundai Accent won't give you top-notch performance levels, but that's now what this car is for. Though its standard 1.6-liter four-cylinder's output is only rated at 120 horsepower, the real value for the Accent is its fuel economy, rated at 41 mpg on the highway. That's the way to go for a traditional fuel-powered commuter car, and you'll appreciate the overall value of the new Accent thanks to its low starting price and how much it saves you on fuel costs.

Even with a low price, you'll get all sorts of smart Hyundai tech in your new Accent. You start off with a small touchscreen, a CD player, USB inputs and more, while the two higher trims add features like smartphone integration with a larger touchscreen, additional USB outlets and other amenities you'll want to consider. The top trim will add driver assistance technology to help you avoid collisions and apply brakes when you're unable to respond to the traffic in front of you.
